Analyze all options and classify all(PQRS etc) as per generation. for generation see introduction (below link)
(+ M, -B, %F, XS)
now first option Q - N + M x P
Q N
M P
Q is brother of N means Q & N are from same generation.
N is the mother of M means M is next generation, and M is sister of P. It means M & P is from same generation.
separate lines for each generation
Q N
M P
now if you analyze above it shows Q is maternal uncle of M&P hence rejected.
now second option P + S x N - Q (+ M, -B, %F, XS)
P
S N Q
here relation is P is mother of SNQ rejected.
fourth option
Q - S % P
P
Q S , conc p is father of Q,S
now third option.
P - M + N x Q (+ M, -B, %F, XS)
N Q
P M , PM are brother sister, their mother is N and her brother is N hence this option is rit.
Further in above question + and % is separate generation.
- and x is separate generation.

a) Q - N + M x P
b) P + S x N - Q
c) P - M + N x Q
d) Q - S % P.
It is easy, you don't need to solve it fully. Lets check...
We have to find that P is uncle i, e P is male.
a) Q - N + M x P
M x P means
M is sister of P but is P male or female, we don't know...
So part (a) is rejected.
b) P + S x N - Q
P + S means P is mother of S.
So P is female..
Again (b) rejected because P must be male.
d) Q - S % P
S % P
Means; S is a father of P but is P male or female, we don't know...
So part (d) is again rejected.
c) P - M + N x Q
P - M means P is the brother of M.
So P is male, so it is sufficient to prove the answer.
Lets complete it;
P - M + N x Q
P - M means P is the brother of M.
M + N means M is the mother of N.
N x Q means N is the sister of Q.
Conclusion: P is the brother of M, and M is the mother of Q.
So, P is the Uncle of Q.
b) P + S x N - Q
c) P - M + N x Q
d) Q - S % P.

a+b = a mother of b.
a-b = a brother b.
a%b = a father b.
a*b = a sister b.
p maternal uncle of q = ?
q-n = q brother n.
n+m = n mother m.
m*p = m sister p.
(m sister p) daughter of n (n is brother q) here (q is maternal uncle p) opposite to the question. So not correct.
p+s = p mother of s.
s*n = s sister of n.
n-q = n brother of q.
Here (s, n, q are brother and sister) and their (mother is p). So not correct.

@Deepshikha @Mrudula @Ruchi Jain @Aniket @Bhavani @Siya.
First, read the question clearly. We have to show that P is maternal uncle of Q.
Let me show Explanation of option [A]:
Q - N ->' Q is the brother of N.
N + M -> N is the mother of M.
M x P -> M is the sister of P.
Therefore, Q is the maternal uncle of P.
So option [A] shows Q is the maternal uncle of P, this question is to show that P is maternal uncle of Q. So read the question carefully.
Hope you will understand :)

P - M: "P is the brother of M".
M + N: "M is the mother of N".
N * Q: "N is the sister of Q".
From this, we deduce:
P is the brother of M.
M is the mother of N.
N is the sister of Q.
What is the relationship between P and Q?
P is the brother of M, and M is the mother of N, so P is the maternal uncle of N.
N is the sister of Q, which means Q is also M's child, making P the maternal uncle of Q.
This expression shows that P is the maternal uncle of Q.
M + N: "M is the mother of N".

Maternal uncle means mother's brother. So if P is my mama then he is my mom's brother (P_M) , then M is my mom so, me is N (M+N) and then I am a sis of Q (N'-B). So the relation with P of mine is the same as of Q. Then clearly. P is my maternal uncle of mine it means Q because she is my sister. So option "c" is the correct answer.
I hope you easily understand this explanation.

* Maternal uncle means mother's brother
* Here P must b a mother's brother of Q i.e P is a maternal uncle of Q.its given in question
* P-M+N*Q - means brother, + means mother, * means sister
* Now its clear P is the brother of M & q is the child of m,so p relates to q is maternal uncle
p (brother)-> M (mother) -> n & q
hope u all understand :-)

It was very simple.
1st see which option start form "P" ->
[B]. P + S x N - Q.
[C]. P - M + N x Q.
Start with option B = P + S = P is the mother of S = wrong equation.
Start with option C = P - M = P is the brother of M.
M + N = M is the mother of N.
N * Q = N is the sister of Q.
Q. Which of the following shows that P is the maternal uncle of?
ANS. C.

1) Take it logically.
2) Let see the options.
3) All we want p on left side(as P is gona be related with Q) and Q on rite side.
4) Also we want * with Q on right side as he is P's mothers brother. Because brother sister relation is shown by * sign.
5) All this pointed toward option C.
6) Make family tree of c.
7) There u got the answer.
