There are deer and peacocks in a zoo. By counting heads they are 80. The number of their legs is 200. How many peacocks are there ?
20
30
50
60
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Let x and y be the number of deer and peacocks in the zoo respectively. Then,

x + y = 80 ...(i) and

4x + 2y = 200 or 2x + y = 100 ...(ii)

Solving (i) and (ii), we get) x = 20, y = 60.

Let x as deer and y as Peacock.
Now,

x+y=80--(i).
4x+2y=200--(ii).

Solve (i) and (ii) by multiplying (i) by 4.
y = 60 .

Peacock = 60.

Total Numbers of heads = 80(consist on peacock's and deer heads).

Let X be the dear heads, and y be the peacock heads.

Deer heads +peacock heads = Total heads.

X+Y = 80 ------- 1.

Each deer 4 legs and each peacock 2 legs, now total given legs 200.

Deer legs+peacock legs = total legs.

4X+2Y = 200.
2(2X+Y) = 200.
2X+Y=100 ------- 2.

Solving (i) and (ii), we get x = 20, y = 60.
