D is the correct answer, the reason is because you can't bow with an arrow.
Here Thrust is a verb and Spear is a noun. For Verbal Analogies, you must find the best answer not everything is so cut and dry. Bow and arrow are both nouns so although they are an answer they aren't the best. D on the other hand is both a verb fence and noun epee.

Spear lies in the sporting group of thrust. In the same way, epee lies in the sporting group of fencing. Fencing consists of three games; foil, epee and sabre.

In this analogy, the first one is action and the second one is a weapon where action is applied so that the answer will be D.

Right choice. Thrust and fencing are "art of attack", and spear and epee are "weapon for attack".

The answer is fence:epee definitely because you thrust with a spear and fence with an epee. The other options don't make sense.

Epee is used for fencing and spear is used for thrust.
