What nicy is absolutely correct. Its about base and not number significance. Quince is 5 in french but 10 and 2 are respective base of decimal and binary number system.

In Binary number system base is 2.

In octal number system base is 8.

In Decimal number system base is 10.

In Hexadecimal number system base is 16.

Decimal means 10 base.

Binary uses 2 numbers - 1 and 0.

Decimal uses 10 numbers - 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9.

Quartet and septet does belong to numeric system even they represent the meanings as 7 and 4 respectively.

Yes, septet and quartet are related to the numbers seven and four, but they are not number bases, like decimal and binary. The words septet and quartet instead refer to, in music, either a group of multiple singers, or to mathematical tuples.

Decimal :- counted in tens.

Binary :- counted only two numbers.
