Quick to notice any unusual and potentially dangerous or difficult circumstances; vigilant.
"an alert police officer discovered a lorry full of explosive".
Synonyms: vigilant, wide awake, aware, *watchful*, attentive, *observant*, circumspect, heedful.
Both (B) & (D) are right.

Watchful is the right answer. Since observant is a person who pays attention to one particular thing. If you are watchful you must be aware of everything around. Energetic and intelligent are absurd answers.

Both option B and D are correct.
For example, when we watch something dangerous, here we are observing the circumstance. We immediately respond or alert to this situation.
