Corpulent means somewt which is thick. Here we have two options gaunt and obese. Gaunt mean thin but obese mean fatty (obesity). That is obese is the correct one.

Gaunt means very thin "especially from disease or hunger or cold.

emaciated means bony : very thin

obese is excessively fat.


from above we can conclude that corpulent has the same meaning as obese.
