Lynch means to kill or hang a person.
Here technically hang is wrong because hang has different meanings according to the sentence or topic.
Example: That's the place where people are supposed to "hang" their washing.
But here "kill" is more suitable as it only has one meaning to execute a person or something.

Lynch means to execute someone, typically by hanging, without a legal trial, usually carried out by a mob as a form of extrajudicial punishment.
Therefore, hang would be the most appropriate synonym of lynch.

The word "Hang" can aslo be used not it is not giving the specified meaning to kill when it comes alone as a word, so that is why "Kill" is the most suitable option.

(of a group of people) kill (someone) for an alleged offence without a legal trial, especially by hanging. Then both kill and hang can be the answer.
