Lynch means to kill or hang a person.

Here technically hang is wrong because hang has different meanings according to the sentence or topic.
Example: That's the place where people are supposed to "hang" their washing.
But here "kill" is more suitable as it only has one meaning to execute a person or something.

Lynch means to execute someone, typically by hanging, without a legal trial, usually carried out by a mob as a form of extrajudicial punishment.

Therefore, hang would be the most appropriate synonym of lynch.

Lynch: To kill someone, especially by hanging, for an alleged offence without a legal trial.
Hang: To kill someone by suspending them by the neck with a rope.
Madden: To make someone extremely angry or infuriated.

The word "Hang" can aslo be used not it is not giving the specified meaning to kill when it comes alone as a word, so that is why "Kill" is the most suitable option.
