Friends according to me, the morning they have written letter. Right? so it became past. So why "this morning we were writing" can also come know? clear my doubt?

Option D is correct the sentence does not have any grammatical error so does not need any rectification.

There's no any mistake in this sentence & Mr @Dibyendu Das "having" is not only used for consumption but also for other tasks.
e.g."having received",

"for the same" is not necessary. Because, in the phrase " Having... ", we have the reason for thanking.
