"killed the wolf" verb and we need adverb single handed to modify it ;) maybe or single is adjective and handed is an adverb modifying an adjective (single).

I think, the difference b/w HOW SHE COULD and HOW COULD SHE is due to grammatical form DIRECT and INDIRECT SPEECH.
"How COULD SHE know?" I inquired. --->>>>>>> I inquired how SHE COULD know?
Anyone suggest or correct me.

It is So, because modals always come after subject not before.

Well, I think it's only a matter of NARRATION CHANGE. If it was "How can you (here a girl) kill the wolf?" Note the question mark in the end. So when we do narration change of the quoted line we get HOW SHE COULD KILL THE WOLF. And the '?' has been replaced by full stop (.).

Option A is somewhat inappropriate. Because "everyone visiting the house" doesn't seem well.

It is an indirect speech.

@All.
I don't think that there is anything wrong with the sentence. "How could she kill the wolf" is grammatically correct. I had this checked with a couple of people and if at all there is an error in the sentence then it should've been in "single-handed and without a weapon" and not with "how could she kill the wolf".
