Friends, Consider if clause.
3 cases:

In this context would is appropriate because WOULD is related to "HE" (other person's thought). And foucsed on his thought rather than own thought.
Ex: He said that he would mind if I refused his offer. (CORRECT).

Here WOULD I more appropriate as in this context WOULD justify and focus on HE (the other persons thought rather than own thought).
