I agree with you @Akshata. If he always prefers a white shirt it shouldn't be "preffered", and there should definitely be "a" or "the" before nouns. So option C should be corrected to :over a colored one" or "over the colored ones" (generalizing all the colored shirts).

Option B is correct. Because this sentence is in indirect speech form. So, reporting speech will be in third form.

Exactly, I agree with @Sdh. I think it should be 'festive' occasion and not festival.

The right word should be "festive". Festival is not an adjective.
