The sentence doesn't seem right. I think the correct one can be "Naveen tried as he could, but didn't succeed in getting his car start-up".

I think the correct sentence should be "He tried as hard as he could but Naveen did not succeed in getting his car start-up".

Vb 1st form is used after did not then I think option c is wrong can anybody explain it?
