Because thoroughly is already an adverb, and so add something so to comparative degrees are not valid.

Actually, it is the rule of English grammar that we can't use the word "about " with the "discuss ".

A is correct. i.e, it has a grammatical mistake. So is not needed infront of thoroughly.
