Keeping 'so' in the sentence is correct. The Full sentence is "We discussed the problem so thoroughly on the eve of the examination that I found it very easy to work it out" This is regarding "SO THAT" usage. Hence, A is correct answer.

Answer A is correct guys, 'so' is not needed before thoroughly.
