Whenever the 1st sentence is present simple then 2nd sentence always will be in the present perfect tense.

I think right answer will be "did".

The appropriate answer is "does" because;

1. Small child is in the learning process so he will do those actions which are present.
2. In this sentence habit is discussed so present simple should be used.
3. Father is third-person singular so we use does instead of doing.

Both "had done" and "did" could be the answer.

The correct answer is option d) had done, because whatever his father did, that is in the long past which should be mentioned in the past perfect tense.

But I think more appropriate is "had done" instead of "does".

Explanation:

Original sentence: “The small child does whatever his father was done.” So, “was done” is incorrect here.
Corrected sentence: “The small child does whatever his father has done”.
“Has done” (present perfect) is used to indicate actions completed by the father up to the present, which the child now imitates.
Did → simple past; less appropriate because it doesn’t connect past actions to the present.
Does → present tense; incorrect here.
Had done → past perfect; implies a time before another past event, not suitable.
So, “has done” is the correct answer.
