Smuggle goods are those which are illegally brought in the country and customs has a right to seize the goods. So the correct word is confiscate.

Confiscated means to take temporary possession of as a security, by legal authority

Confiscate -> to officially take something from somebody, especially as a punishment.
ex:- Their land was confiscated after the war.
