Need the explanation for the same.

Can you explanation for the same in detail?

Sarat Ankit said: (Nov 16, 2010)
well basically concealing means to hide....so it cannot be D,
and with context of the sentence you cannot use the word succeed so eliminate option C.
and again agony means pain...so if its B it contradicts the statement..and it obviously cant be A since it means happy and not angry...so its E :)

C n E are very close, but it is dispite so its obviously E.

Sentence will come exactly opposite in meaning because of the Despite word usage.

Despite means inspiteof now you can easily understand this.

Effort means he tried to hide his anger but his effort he kept did not work that is the reason people came to know.

In this sentence, first look at the word Despite. It means the people came to know about a thing which is negative of him. Though they know about his good quality, they just ignored it.

Amarnath925 said: (Aug 23, 2012)
Here the key word is 'DESPITE' so the next statement should be
-ve to the statement which is given immediate to the Despite word.

Swathi Jami said: (Sep 17, 2013)
As DESPITE results in negative sense according to that we can go for 'E'.

Sudeep said: (May 6, 2015)
Conceal means hiding something from view or public knowledge. Thus option E is the exact use of despite word in question.

Hesbon said: (Feb 2, 2016)
