I agree D is the right answer. Because 'can' became 'can be' and "played with you" was not mentioned in the question. So option D is right.

Do is correct.
Sometimes in case of intransitive verbs, the proposition of the verb follows its verb. Then only it gives the correct meaning.

In answer D is these kittens can be played with quite safely but it not mentions by whom these kittens can be played so as per my opinion C is the correct answer.
