Thus, there are 4 + 4 + 1 = 9 rectangles in the given figure.

To find rectangles or squares is pretty easy.
No.of vertical lines = 3
No.of horizontal lines = 3
Using Combination 3C.3C = 9 (just try)

ACEG is a square, not a rectangle.

So, the answer is 8.
