The correct answer is to locate the centres of round rods.

A V-block is a precision tool used to:

- Locate the centres of round rods or cylinders.
- Hold and support round parts for measurement or machining.
- Ensure accurate alignment and positioning of round components.

The V-block's V-shaped groove cradles the round part, allowing for precise centring and support.

The other options are incorrect because:
- Checking the trueness of flat surfaces is typically done using a straightedge, precision square, or surface plate.
- Checking surface roughness is typically done using a surface roughness tester or profilometer.

=> V-blocks are an essential tool in precision measurement, machining, and quality control, particularly when working with round or cylindrical parts.

I think option B is right.

Without other equipment, (ie. For operation surface roughness checking, locate of center) V blocks does nothing. The point of view only (mainly) V blocks used for holding the round bar.

The answer should be locate centre of round bar because we use V block and height gauge to check a centre of round rod.

How answer is none of these because we use v-block to location center of cylinder workpiece in the fixture.

It is used for checking the roundness. So, C is answer.

It's also used to check the roundness of the cylinder.

It is used to locate cylindrical surface.

@Harshit.

Angle plate is used for trueness.

What is used to measure the surface roughness and trueness of flat surface?
