A should be incorrect because of the word alternate, actually, the Carnot cycle is the universal standard for all other heat engines,
Hence B is correct and also the concept of maximizing work output or efficiency is the main thing about the Carnot cycle that makes option C is correct too.

The answer should be a as per the theoratical concepts of thermodynamics, Carnot cycle is chosen to be as the standard to compare all another cycle or engine and the reason for choosing it is, that it provides maximum work output. So statement b and c are correct about the Carnot cycle.

Carnot cycle is the base of all heat engines. Then how it is option B?

Option (A) tells Carnot cycle is used as the alternate standard of comparison of all heat engines means Carnot cycles is used only for comparison, but in option (b) tells all the heat engines are based on Carnot cycle is incorrect. Because Carnot cycle is an ideal cycle, not a practical cycle it is used only for comparison.

How answer B is possible? Because Carnot cycle based on heat engine. Please explain it.

Yes, B is the correct answer because all heat engine does not base on that if it's possible then all engines we said as an idle means egg and we know that that's not possible.
In carnot there is two processes isothermal which is extremely slow process and isentropis which is extremelly fast process and in practical we not able to making engine based on that so answer B.

I think "all of above" is the wrong option. Because a, b, c options are true. They saying option B is wrong. But Carnot engine standard one all heat engines created based on this concept.
