How can anyone explain?

The maximum shear stress of a beam of triangular section occurs at middle of height.

Max shear stress is at h/6 distance from the base for triangle.

The maximum shear stress occurs at h/2, and not at the neutral axis.

Max. Shear stress = 1. 5 shear stress at neutral axis (Avg.) means in rectangular section max shear is h/2 DISTANCE.

For every beam, the neutral axis plane where bending stress is zero and shear stress is maximum. For triangle, it h/3 from the base.

Given answer is correct. In triangular section max stress occurs at h/2 from base. But NA lies near to base.

NA lies h/3.
Maximum shear stress lies h/2.
So, it will above NA.

Maximum shear stress occurs above NA at h/2 from the top. Thank you.

Neutral axis lies at h/3 from bottom and max shear stress occurs at h/2 from bottom.
