Answer C is right.
MRR= ECM>EDM>USM>EBM>LSM.

Application:
This machining is used to machine hard and brittle material like carbide, ceramic, glass etc.
This is used in machining of die and tool of drill, wire drawing machine etc.
Used in fabrication of silicon nitrite turbine blade.
It is used to cut diamond in desire shape.
It is used machining of machining non-conductive hard material which cannot be machined by ECM or EDM due to poor conductivity.

Surface finish is poor too.
Smooth for soft material. But for hard the surface finish is poor.

The main disadvantage in non-conventional machining process is that the metal removal rate is much slower than conventional machining process.

@Sam.
The answer C is right. When compared to ECM, EDM it removes small material.

The correct answer is A, as best of my knowledge, the main mechanism of removal of material from work surface in USM is "CRATER FAILURE", WHICH IS ONE KIND OF BRITTLE FAILURE OF MATERIAL.
And the depth of the indentation in the case of USM is very small, so USM is a considerably less material removal machining process.

Yes, I too think the answer should be A.

Answer should be A. Material removal is more as compared to other non-conventional machining like LBM and EBM etc

The tool never contacts the work piece and as a result the grinding pressure is rarely more than 2 pounds, which makes this operation perfect for machining extremely hard and brittle materials, such as glass, sapphire, ruby, diamond, and ceramics.

Ultrasonic machining is used for brittle materials especially glasses are cut by this method.
