The depth of cut in this drilling operation can be calculated by multiplying the feed rate (0.2 mm/revolution) by the number of revolutions required to drill through the entire thickness of the mild steel plate (20 mm).
To find the number of revolutions, we can divide the thickness of the plate (20 mm) by the feed rate (0.2 mm/revolution):
Number of revolutions = Thickness of plate/Feed rate.
Number of revolutions = 20 mm/0.2 mm/revolution.
Number of revolutions = 100 revolutions.
Therefore, the correct answer is d. 100 mm.
100 mm.

Given that d =20mm.
T =20mm.
D2 = 2T+ D1(hollow)
D2 = 60.
We know that D2-D1/2 is the formulae.
So answer is 60-20/2.
= 20mm.
T =20mm.
D2 = 2T+ D1(hollow)
D2 = 60.
We know that D2-D1/2 is the formulae.
So answer is 60-20/2.
= 20mm.

What is the depth of cut in drilling?
Depth of cut is half the diameter of drill diameter. Right? Please explain.

In a drilling operation, the depth of cut is measured at right angles to the axis of the drill, i.e. the direction of feed, and is numerically equal to one-half of the diameter of the drill. It can be expressed as:
The depth of cut = (Drill dia/2) mm.
The depth of cut = (Drill dia/2) mm.
