Cement carbide tools are used to machine stainless steels which are having properties such as high toughness, work hardening, corrosion resistance to machine this type of materials we need tools with higher durability and efficiency, these properties of the tool can be obtained by powder metallurgy because of improved micro structure of the tool produced by this process.

Cemented carbide tool tips are generally employed to cut or machine hard materials like carbon steel, stainless steel etc, .

So, its wear rate should be very low for long life and accurate cut. Powder metallurgy is the process of blending powdered materials with additive and pressing it to form desired shape, then heating and quenching it in furnace. The micro-structure of components made by powder metallurgy are very fine and this increases the strength and less wear rate.

The cement carbide is as a cutting tool which is having good wear resistance so it is produced by powder metallurgy for the materials strength increase.

Improved quality can achieved by blending material of acquired strength, and this can be achieved easily with the help of powder metallurgy.
