I can't understand how it will be doubled?
Will anybody help me out, please?

It will be halved, not doubled. Because it is not a orthogonal turning case.

I am not getting this. Please explain in detail.

Chip thickness ratio=depth of cut/chip thickness
So, as given depth of cut=1/2,
So = 1/2/chip thickness,
= 1/2*1/cipthickness,
= 2*chipthickness.
So, double chip thickness.
So, as given depth of cut=1/2,
So = 1/2/chip thickness,
= 1/2*1/cipthickness,
= 2*chipthickness.
So, double chip thickness.

@Srilakshmi
The depth of cut/chip thickness =(depth of cut/2)/(chip thickness/2).
So, chip thickness halves.
The depth of cut/chip thickness =(depth of cut/2)/(chip thickness/2).
So, chip thickness halves.

Wrong answer. Its halved.
r=T1/T2.
T1'=T1/2,
r=T1/T2=(T1/2)/T2'
-> 1/T2=1/(2*T2'),
->T2=2*T2',
->T2'=T2/2,
-> actual chip thickness will be halved w.r.t first.
.
r=T1/T2.
T1'=T1/2,
r=T1/T2=(T1/2)/T2'
-> 1/T2=1/(2*T2'),
->T2=2*T2',
->T2'=T2/2,
-> actual chip thickness will be halved w.r.t first.

In orthogonal cutting feed rate=uncut chip thickness answer is right.
