@Bharath.

t1 = d/2 not t1'.

Check again.

For orthogonal cutting t = d.
And for orthogonal turning t = f.

So, in this the answer should be halved i.e. B.

@Bharath

You are right, Thanks.

R=(t1/t2) = const

t1/t2 = t1'/t2'.

t1= depth of cut = uncut chip thickness.
t2=cut chip thickness =actual chip thickness.

t1/t2=t1'/t2'.
t2=(t2'/t1') *t1.
t2= (t2'/d/2) * d.
t2 = 2(t2').

For orthogonal cutting t = d ( depth of cut),
For orthogonal turning t = f ( feed rate),
Here in question, orthogonal cutting is given so the Answer is B.

Feed = uncut thickness =t 1.
T2 cut thickness.

r = t1/t2 = 2t1/actual cut thickness .
Actual cut thickness = double of before chip thickness T.

When the depth of cut is halved than how chip thickness will be double?

In orthogonal cutting:

The depth of cut (d) = uncut chip thickness (t).
r = t/Tc.
As per the given condition actual chip thickness will be Halved.

@Srilakshmi is right.

Chip thickness ratio(r) = uncut chip thickness/cut chip thickness.
Or Chip thickness ratio(r) =Depth of cut/cut chip thickness.
Or Chip thickness ratio (r) = Feed rate/cut chip thickness provided with a side cutting edge angle is zero.

If formula of CHIPTHICKNESS RATIO is Ratio= (depth of cut/chip thickness).

Then, without unaffected in ratio, if we increase the depth of cut chip thickness increase same time.

And if we decrease depth of cut, chip thickness deceased same time.

So, as a conclusion, if the depth of cut is halved then chip thickness is also halved.

According to this answer must be halved.
