Interlocking :Torque =+ve.
(Friction angle >helix angle),
efficiency<50%.
Overhauling: Torque=-ve.
(friction angle <helix angle).
Efficiency>50%.

Overhauling screw is a screw which has negative torque means (friction angle > lead angle).
No relation with efficiency.

Why efficiency of a self locking is 50%? Can it be increase?

Self locking screw requires positive torque for advancement. Hence its efficiency is less.
