I was thinking the same, there is no relation between overhauling and efficiency. Overhauling means screw will automatically lower the load. Technically negative torque required to lower the load ie. Friction angle < lead angle. But it can be also proved by using maths efficiency >50% for overhauling.

Interlocking :Torque =+ve.
(Friction angle >helix angle),

Overhauling: Torque=-ve.

Self locking screw requires positive torque for advancement. Hence its efficiency is less.

Efficiency of a self locking screw is 50%, for efficiency greater than 50% the screw is said to be overhauling screw.

Overhauling screw has negative tangential force (friction angle < helix angle).
