Viscosity is due to cohesive force, in case of water cohesive force is less than mercury, hence viscosity of water is less than the mercury.

Metallic bond is stronger than Hydrogen bond so mercury resist more force than water.

Hence mercury has more dynamic viscosity than water.

Viscosity is the resist to flow. Thats why, Mercury has more viscous than the water. So, viscosity of water is less than that of mercury.

Kinematic viscosity of water is greater than mercury due to lower density but dynamic viscosity of water is lower than that of mercury.

Dynamic viscosity of Water < Dynamic viscosity of Mercury.

Kinematic viscosity of Water > Kinematic viscosity of Mercury.

Viscosity is the resistance offered by a layer to the motion of adjacent layers. More be the resistance more be the viscosity.

The viscosity of water is 0.89and mercury's viscosity is 1.56. Hence the viscosity of water is less than that of mercury.

The answer is wrong.

The Viscosity of water is less than mercury. Viscosity of mercury is 1.6 times the water viscosity.

The viscosity of water is lower than the viscosity of mercury.
Viscosity of Hg = 0.0015Ns/m^2.
Water = 0.00089Ns/m^2.

Viscosity/Dynamic viscosity of mercury is higher than water and Kinematic viscosity of water is higher than mercury.
