Mercury has higher surface tension than water but its kinematic viscosity is lower (due to high density) than that of water. Whereas its dynamic viscosity is higher than water (its metallic bonds are much stronger than hydrogen bonds of water).

In case of Mercury Cohesion > Addison thus the Higher the Cohesion higher the surface Tension.

Mercury is so heavy than water, so it needs higher surface tension to maintain a spherical shape of its drop.

Surface tension of mercury is large due to high cohesive force. So that large surface tension.

I think it is due to more angle of contact between the both surface.

Also due to more adhesive force in case hg.

How it can be true?
Because everyone knows Mercury has low surface tension than water and because of it is used in manometer etc!
Suggest me anyone.
