The Correct answer should be option A. Surface tension is due to unbalanced cohesive force, so the reason behind surface tension is cohesion between the fluid particle.

As we know that mercury shows upward movement with convex shape which is due to the cohesion property. Surface tension is also due to cohesion. So both are correct.
