Gradually varied means steady and non-uniform flow.

Flow in expanding tube - steady non-uniform flow.
Flow gradually - unsteady uniform flow.
Flow gradually with expanding tube-nonsteady non-uniform.

Steady because the properties remains unchanged with respect to time at a section.
Non uniform cz the cross section is varying which means the velocity changes from one point to another.
So, answer is steady and non uniform.
Hope it is perfectly clear for all.

                Option B is correct.
Actually, here it is asking that cross section is gradually varying and by this, it means that velocity at every point will be different ie. Non-uniform condition. But at that Cross section rate will be constant ie. Steady.
So steady, non-uniform.

With respect to time, flow parameters is not const so unsteady.

                Option (D) is correct.
Because the flow is varied so at each point, velocity is varying creating an unsteady flow.

                D is correct.
C correct only When the flow in a long pipe is gradually varied.
