Scalar quantity have only magnitude but no direction, vector quantity have both magnitude and direction.

Speed could be in any direction its direction cannot be determined in a particular path so it is a scalar quantity where as the other components as force, velocity and acceleration should be determined in a certain path so they are vector quantities.

Scalar quantity has only magnitude, However vector quantity has both magnitude & direction. Speed has only magnitude not direction so it is scalar quantity.

Scalar is speed because it has both direction and magnitude.

Hello @Moulali.
Do you know the difference between scalar and vector quantity?
