A thermoplastic is a material which becomes soft when heated and hard when cooled. Thermoplastic materials can be cooled and heated several times. They can be recycled. When thermoplastics are heated, they melt to a liquid.

Thermoplastics soften when heated and can be reshaped multiple times without undergoing a chemical change.

They solidify upon cooling but do not become permanently hard like thermosetting plastics.

Because they are mostly chain structured polymers. On heating chain goes to extend.

They can be used again and again as they can be softened again and again.
