The Microstructure is the very small scale structure of a material, defined as the structure of a prepared surface of the material as revealed by a microscope above 25° magnification.
So microscope is the correct answer which was not present in above options (optical microscope is the wrong answer).

Answer is D. Because Micro-structure of material is generally examine by Metallurgical microscope, since the materials are opaque, therefore their structural constituents are studied under reflected light.
