An amorphous solid is a solid in which there is no long-range order of the positions of the atoms.

Amorphous solids on the other hand, do not have a regular and periodic arrangement of atoms. All the bonds are not equally strong. These solids do not have a precise melting point.

Examples of amorphous solids are rubbers, glass, plastic, cement and paraffin.

Glass is amorphous (SiO2) and Quartz is crystalline.

Amorphous solids which don't have regular periodic arrangement. It may have short range but don't have any long rang order.

Silver - fcc.
Lead - fcc.
Mica - monoclinic.

But glass doesn't have any crystal structure.
