The correct answer is silica bricks.

The Basic Bessemer process is a steel production method that uses a Bessemer converter lined with silica bricks to remove impurities from pig iron and produce steel. The silica lining helps to:

1. Remove phosphorus and other acidic impurities.
2. Prevent the formation of silicates, which can contaminate the steel.

Silica bricks are used because they are:

1. Acidic, which helps to neutralize basic impurities
2. Resistant to the high temperatures and corrosive atmosphere in the Bessemer converter

The other options are not accurate:

- A mixture of tar and burnt dolomite bricks is not typically used in the Basic Bessemer process.
- Tar is not suitable for lining the furnace due to its low-temperature resistance and tendency to volatilize.
- Burnt dolomite is sometimes used in other steel production processes, but not in the Basic Bessemer process.

The Bessemer process has largely been replaced by more modern steel production methods, such as the Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF) and Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) processes.

If acidic Bessemer process have silica bricks then why the answer is dolomite bricks? Anyone please explain me.

Basic Bessemme process is also known as the Thomas process.

Acidic Bessemmer process - silica bricks.
