Even I felt option C to be the right answer. Cause the one who's sharing the story definitely finds interest & perhaps believes in such stories.

It should be an option C. D is definitely not a suitable choice. Moreover, the word "perhaps" in option c makes it more suitable.

Option 'C' seems quite right than 'D' because from statement, it is not sure that Mohit is afraid of ghosts but as in 'C', 'perhaps' shows possibility so it is acceptable.

Option 'D' is not quite suitable, in the statement, there is no trace of believing or not of Ghosts, so 'D' is not correct. Option C is suitable because Hitesh is conveying something he has heard/He believes in, which matches with the statement closely.

Because D is shows surity which can't be said seeing the question. C has "perhaps" which makes it more suitable.
