Statements: From the next academic year, students will have the option of dropping Mathematics and Science for their school leaving certificate examination.
Conclusions:
- Students who are weak in Science and Mathematics will be admitted.
- Earlier students did not have the choice of continuing their education without taking these subjects.
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Since the new system gives the students the option of dropping Science and Mathematics, so students weak in these subjects can also be admitted. So, I follows. Also, it is mentioned that the new system will come into effect from the next academic year. This means that it did not exist previously. So, II also follows.

The statement is about dropping subjects but statement A is regarding admitting of students even though they are weak in math and science I was not understanding how it is implicit, but statement B is clearly implicit (true).

They're dropping them for "School leaving certificate".
It doesn't mention anything about the conditions/exams needed to be admitted in school.

Students who are weak in these subjects CAN also be admitted, but the statement says WILL. These students might be bad in other courses, which means that they WILL not automatically be admitted. Thereby the right answer should be B: Only conclusion II follows.

Students who wish to drop maths and science doesn't mean they are weak in it. There can be other reasons also for which they wish to drop science and maths.

Just because next year they have the option, could it not also exist that this year the option was also offered?
