Statement: Should all the annual examinations up to Std. V be abolished?

Arguments:

  1. Yes. The young students should not be burdened with such examinations which hampers their natural growth.
  2. No. The students will not study seriously as they will get automatic promotion to the next class and this will affect them in future.
Only argument I is strong
Only argument II is strong
Either I or II is strong
Neither I nor II is strong
Both I and II are strong
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Clearly, neither the students can be burdened with studies at such a tender age, nor can they be left free to take studies casually, as this shall weaken their basic foundation. So, both the arguments follow.

I think 2nd argument is correct. A new born baby we can say a complete white paper. What we write on them that is the future of them. So parents and school teachers have to take the responsibility for the students to familiar with the annual exam. Because there is no filter in small children so they absorb things very quickly.

If they don't give annual exam for 5 years and suddenly in 6th standard they give annual exam that takes more pressure to them. So the school authorities have to apply less percentage pass marks and checking the copies lightly and ensure that all students pass their standards so that they are acquainted with the exam which helps them in future.

I think annual exams upto 5th must be conducted. Then they will get adusted for reading such an enormous syllabus at a time in the future. In our state andhra pradesh the students are the most hard working students in our country. The no of intelligent people may be less but no. Of hard working people are more. For an example see the IIT rank every year. Majority of the top ranking students are from andhra pradesh. The reason is the student will be polished from the eaarlier classes itself.

Exams are not the only way to flourish natural growth and therefore should not be considered as a strong argument.

Exams should conduct but children should not be burdened with excessive study. In their tender age parents should not expect them too much. They must devote time to find their own interest and to make career in their selective interest.

Well but I found option B is not suitable because till class V no student able to understand importance of education.

So where seriousness is count infect instead of this option should B like that: No because it will make there basic of primary education and they will suffer in future. This will be more appropriate.

I find argument 1 quite vague. What exactly is meant by natural growth? Doesn't a lack of competition itself hampers growth and development in general?

Due to lack of better argument for the statement, I find option B more suitable.

Each student must be assessed by various skills such as listening speaking reading writing life skill physical fitness leadership qualities helping sharing skills etc. . So I agree option E.

As long as the arguments concerned, facts presented in arguments are important to determine weather the argument is strong or weak. If the exam requires mugging syllabus, it is surely burdensome for students and should be abolished.

For the second argument; students are not supposed to be serious at this age. Instead of showing fear of exam, innovative learning modules should be arranged to make students learn. I don't think argument B is strong.

Abolishing is not the only remedy for reducing burden, so I feel option A is vague and option B should be the answer not both.
