Logical Reasoning - Number Series - Discussion
Discussion Forum : Number Series - Type 3 (Q.No. 5)
Directions to Solve
Look carefully for the pattern, and then choose which pair of numbers comes next.
5.
3 5 35 10 12 35 17
Answer: Option
Explanation:
This is an alternating addition series, with a random number, 35, interpolated as every third number. The pattern of addition is to add 2, add 5, add 2, and so on. The number 35 comes after each "add 2" step/

3 5 35 10 12 35 17.
ANS = 19 24.
Because as we see that 35 is random number after every 2 digits,
So we add 2 in first digit 3+2 = 5,then it comes 35.
We add 7 to first digt so 3+7 = 10,10 will be the first digit and then we add 2 so it will be 10+2.
Again we add 7 10+7 = 17 then we add 2 it will be 19 and again we add 7 17+7=24.
Hence ans is 24.
3+2=5, 3+7=10, 10+2=12, 10=7=17, 17+2=19, 17+7=24.
ANS = 19 24.

Here two series are there, with a random number, 35.
3 5 {35} 10 12 {35} 17
One series is 3,10,17,by adding 7.
Second series is 5,12,by adding 7, answer is 19 and as you know random number is 35.
So 19, 35.
3 5 {35} 10 12 {35} 17
One series is 3,10,17,by adding 7.
Second series is 5,12,by adding 7, answer is 19 and as you know random number is 35.
So 19, 35.

3 5 35 10 12 35 17 this is the question.
3+2=5.
Then keep 35 as it is;
For that 12.
10+2=12.
Next 12+5 =17.
Next, it would be 17+2=19 35 keeps as it is;
It's simple, by adding 2 and 5 alternatively.

Here 35 is a random number ,it comes after every 3rd number
add2 and add5 alternatively and so on......
now
3+2=5
5+5=10
10+2=12
12+5=17
17+2=19
so on........

Just ignore 35 in the given series.
Rest of the number follows alternate increment of 2 then 5.
3+2=5.
5+5=10.
10+2=12.
12+5=17.
17+2=19.

17+2=19.

35 common 10 and 12 difference 2.
17 19 difference 2 so 19 answer 19 35.
19 24 wrong because 24 is not there and not common.
17 19 difference 2 so 19 answer 19 35.
