Lightning:

The occurrence of a natural electrical discharge of very short duration and high voltage between a cloud and the ground or within a cloud, accompanied by a bright flash and typically also thunder.

Lighting:

Equipment in a room, building, or street for producing light. The arrangement or effect of lights. I think here is where the confusion comes; no matter what you need some sort of electricity to produce lightning.

When clouds thunder that time for a short duration electric discharge is occur. It is called lightning. I thing no option is correct.

Lightning is caused when in the cloud the positive and negative charge accumulates in massive that time to come equal strikes is happening and hence cause thunder, brightness.

Most of the people is saying that Brightness is essential for lightning and they are right because.

A light is the cause of radiation from anybody in any form and can't be visible until it have a proper brightness.

Electricity is a source of producing light but not only source.

Answer should be b) thunder because, the sound (or thunder) will follow the electricity i.e. completely associated with lightning but other options :- a) electricity can be associated with power plants/ generators, brightness and rain also do not matter much.

Hey guys it can also be thought as brightness is due to light's intensity and thunder may or may not be a pair for lightening and in case of rain sometimes lightning may come and may not come so I think the most appropriate answer is electricity.

I think the most appropriate answer is brightness. For ex. Sunlight cause lightening. Not necessarily the electricity would be main needs for lightning. Without electricity. Light can also be generated what we so called natural light.

I too think Lightning must be related to brightness. As Lightning could be produced in any ways not only through electricity. But what ever Lightning we take brightness is common outcome/by product.

Lightning must be related to brightness as any kind of lightning produce brightness whether it is from thunder or electricity. I think brightness would be appropriate answer.

Rajesh said:   1 decade ago
I think lightening is much more related to brightness may Be I wrong because lightening may be produced by wood, coal, electricity, thunder, water or two stones.

We can produce electricity using water called hydroelectricity in which current passes trough water without water the electric current will not generate.
