Directions to Solve
A good way to figure out the relationship in a given question is to make up a sentence that describes the relationship between the first two words. Then, try to use the same sentence to find out which of the answer choices completes the same relationship with the third word.

Yard is to inch as quart is to
gallon
ounce
milk
liquid
Answer: Option
Explanation:
A yard is a larger measure than an inch (a yard contains 36 inches). A quart is a larger measure than an ounce (a quart contains 32 ounces). Gallon (choice a) is incorrect because it is larger than a quart. Choices c and d are incorrect because they are not units of measurement.

Quart is unit of liquid capacity which is equal to quarter of a gallon. I think gallon is the right answer.

A gallon should be the right answer because both Gallons are quarts measured in litres, as ounces in kgs.

Yard and inch are units of length.
Similarly, quart and gallon are units of volume.
Hence, the correct answer is gallon.

Whereas Pint is the unit of measurement of liquid which is less than a quart.

Gallon>Quart>Pint.

Ounce in itself is totally different measurement ie. Of mass.

If Yard is larger than inch then between yard & inch there is foot.

So why not Gallon that is as away from Ounce as Yard from inch.

Here, Gallon should be the right answer. Look at the other problems. It is about the types of measurement first. Gallon and quart are for the volume of the liquid. Oz is for mass.
