There is a way to put it across, I never tell him on the face that the idea is not good. I rather tell him what alternative could be done and if he is okay with that?
It makes lot of difference between saying "You know what your idea is not good at all!"
And saying "Sir, WHy don't we do this instead of that? don't you think it could be more effective?"

I would have a detailed discussion with my boss, where both of us would keep our views. I would try to look at the idea from his perspective, and try to explain my point of view too. Together, we will try to reach a common solution. Only after having a one-on-one discussion and listing out all the data points, can it be decided whether an idea is actually great or "stinks".

As an employ, I will hear his idea and take a deep study and make technical help from my sub-ordinates, better take a case study and if he was wrong with his idea, arrange a meeting with him and explains the practical feasibility and the losses of resources that may occur to the company by the project in the future else go with his key idea.

sir,
You are having much experience in this field and you might take many decision according to different situations. so this decision also may be right according to you. same time i feel that it may cause severe consequences. If u feel that my attitude is good in this criteria u can consider my solution. anyway taking decision is yours.

Thanks Sir,
I will give priority to my boss's opinion first, but I always have to think about the company's development and avoiding risk. In this regard, if I found boss is going completely against the company's interest, then I would try my best to demonstrate by views, logical points and other issues which is beneficial to the company.

Everyone has its own freedom to think and make it in progress as per himself or herself, if some one ask me I would tell him to listen to himself what his heart or his mind says about that because following to himself would lead to the success of his own thinking what it is called as an idea, but I would let him know my thinking also.

We all are not alike and everybody have a different point of view. For my boss it might be an excellent idea but for me there could have been a better idea that his/her's. The best way is to have a brainstorming session to make sure that the company is benefited with the idea irrespective of whoever decision has come to a conclusion.

First I will try to understand the prospect of my boss for that idea and then analyse what are the things he likes most or try to evaluate the pros and cons of that idea but after that if I am not satisfied with that idea so I will definitely go to boss and discuss my unsatisfy question and put my views in front of him.

I would talk to my boss and will tell my logics and doubts about that idea and will ask from him for some assistance and perspective upon that. If he is not satisfied with my ideas then I will try to settle down with his version of plan as he is the boss and have gained experience in this field for a longer time.
