According to me, both hard work & smart work gives the best result. But without hard work, smart work is not possible because hard work gives you experience and smart work comes with experience.

Hard works mean to do any work by using body power and smart work means do any work by physically and mentally.
But we should do any work both physically and mentally that both are needed (equal).

Hard work includes the straightforward method of doing some tasks, which can require more time.

Both things we used to solve problems.
Hard takes a lot of effort to solve problems and smart work takes only less time but it depends on work. But sometimes smart work is not useful everywhere.

Hard work tends to physical effort.
While smart work tends to mental effort.
In short, hard work= 20% brain effort + 80% physical effort.
And smart work = 20% physical effort + 80% brain effort.

Hard work leads to Smart work.
If you work hard in the beginning you can learn new things, which can help you to work smartly. In hard work your Body leads, but, in smart work, your brain leads.
