Hi friends, in my view increasing population in INDIA has both benefits and defects. Why because, at present world's technology developing very fast, for that lots of people are required to develop the technology in efficient way. So we have to use them in a effective manner by providing motivational skills and scholarships, educational centres.

As well as defects also there, that are lack of resources for future generation and lot of pollution, increment in usage of automobiles, unknown diseases.

So government should provide strict rules for family planning. Spreading the news about family planning and its uses for rural people by News papers, radios and TV's.

The 1 or 2 children policy must be initiated strictly. It must be announced that the couple have to serve several years in prison if family planning is not done after 2 children, irrespective of the religion. If the population goes on increasing like this then we have to go in helicopters for even local transportation as the grounds and the roads will be so crowded.

Literate states are more likely to have a efficient tab on population with also states with households owning a TV as per studies conducted. By TV its not a house having a TV will have lesser children but can be aware of various initiatives by the government for population control. Actually, the truth is that the south Indian states have already reached the replacement rate. The two major states of UP and bihar contribute largely to population rise.

I don't quite understand what's taking the Indian government to educate and implement a more comprehensive birth control programme in these states? I believe that corrupt governments want these states to remain in poverty primarily fueled by population so that more money can be effectively looted. With absolutely no educated population the problem of accountability also does not arise since the population of these states are not aware of what's actually been done to them.

Immediate measure for this should be to shoot all rapists and thugs irrespective of their religion and position. India don't need them.

Atleast jails will be free and resources can be used for better utilised and innocent people can walk on streets without fear.

I am sure that will get reduce lot of junk population from India.

By imposing strict family planning rules, next few generations may end up with more aging population and that can cause major problem with economic growth and Productivity.

Birth control is a must for Indian, it not only effect India but others too. Population of UP comparable to Brazil, but the source of income and its living standard are incomparable. Population is not the remedy for a country like India. So stop reproducing more or else great famine is unfold to come.

Population increases just like petrol prices and gold prices. But it all lies in how we view the scenario. Rather than cribbing or brooding over the ever increasing population, you may use it as a support to climb greater heights. Population quotient-the strength of 1.52 billion dexterous population is something we all need to take into account and use as an opportunity. Indians, together can create wonders. The skill, attitude and knowledge is not match able by any other country. The call for the hour is to deploy the unemployed. The talent, ability, resources is all here, it is just that we are restraining ourselves from looking at the brighter side of it. It's still never to late. Yesterday also, in an article in Hindu I read that the fraction of Indian citizens having mental disorder is very high. The demand for psychiatrists amounts to 3500, but the supply is just 350. Where is the hidden potential? Is it being untapped, or unrecognized or both? Making the worst out of the less, tagged are looser. Making the most out of ten available, tagged as winners.

Population is assets of a country. But in India, population become a major problem. India secured 2nd position in population. Population is more in rural areas than urban areas. I assure to say that education is the main reason behind this. Our government should take some steps for educating rural people.

Hi friends, Population was a major cause for India to still respect as a developing Country. India secured 2nd rank in population list. Population was more in rural areas than urban areas. The major cause of increasing population is rural peoples were not aware of disadvantages of increasing population like increase in population leads to decrease in non renewable sources. Ultimately, you have to depend on foreign countries even for basic needs.

Over-population is one of the major social problem in India. Social evils like poverty, unemployment, child marriage, child labor, etc. All are directly or indirectly related to over- population. I as a student of social work find a lot of cases on the social evils which can be ultimately related with the increasing population.

The Government of India has taken many important steps to control the population so that it does not result to "POPULATION EXPLOSION" and has succeeded to an extent but not to the expectations. I think just making rules, laws, regulation etc will not do; there should be someone so that they can go to the fields and make the people aware. Grass-root Community Development is very important which will ultimately result in NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT.

As we all know that our country is emerging country in the world. But there are certain factors which create hindrance on the path of development like over population, illiteracy and poverty they all are interlinked with each other.

Like illiteracy causes population, and population causes poverty and all are causes negative impact on development, so first of all we or govt take stringent action over illiteracy because it is root of all problem. Govt should work on effective education system like cash transfer scheme type of policy that will provide education to those who needy aspirant.

To control population first they create awareness among rural areas as we all know that illiteracy ratio is more in rural areas rather than urban. To do advertising campaign in harts mela or through wall advertisement and education model should be prepared for them.

Those who have less than 3 children will provide more subsidy as compared to other.

Govt should increase education cess by 3% it removes shortage of fund for education and encourage people for quality education.

Education not even for children but also for women and for older age people special classes should be conduct for them in rural ares.
