Should voters be given a NOTA (None Of The Above) choice?

No, voters should not be given NOTA choice, because if everyone go for this choice in votings, then definitely no political party will come in the country. And there will be 99% chance of coming military raj in the country. Also the money wasted on the elections will be of no use. This was started for the benefit of people but I think that this may also go against the benefit of public.

In my perspective, voters should be given a NOTA (None Of The Above) choice because the Indian Constitution gives every citizen of this country, the Right to Vote and it is no where mentioned that whoever visits the polling booth must cast his / her vote only to elect a candidate representing xyz political party and not the NOTA. What matters is that instead of sitting at home, he/she should exercise his/her Right to Vote.

I am Nithin Kumar I'm happy to initiate this talk about "Whether voters be given a NOTA".

I will say yes to NOTA. First of all, we wanted to know what is NOTA- (None Of The Above) given in an EVM Machine NOTA is nothing but when a voter is not satisfied with the candidate that they are going to vote for. They can go with the option called NOTA (None of the Above) where they point their answer as their not interested or satisfied with the candidate. If the NOTA vote counts exceed the above 75 Percentage there will be reelection kept where new candidates can participate in that election. Voting is a common right people can select candidates if they like or else they can also change the candidate in the election by clicking a single button NOTA.

We live in a democratic country everyone has their own choice. If someone thinks that none of is capable of being any post for that NOTA is must be there.

NOTA should be implemented. Nowadays famous personalities such as movie stars, sports personalities etc. Come to politics. People vote for the popularity, not for the character or talent of the person. Also, many people vote for the party their previous generation has been supporting rather than voting for the candidate who is good and talented. NOTA can act as an eye opener for the parties and the government to understand that the people are not happy with the candidate and their notions.

NOTA should be provide during at election. This would be the greatest tool for measure the spoilness of political system. A voter should have this right that who choose any option to vote a candidate or not. This gonna be right step in improving the percentage of voting because there are some in society who want to give vote but due lack of good option they are not interested to give their vote any person therefore if there is option for NOTA then at least voter come to EVM machine to press the NOTA option. In my opinion this would be great step to improvement percentage of voting currently we only have highest 85% of voting we need to take it at 100.

No, I am not in the favor that NOTA option should be in the electric voting machine. It has no significance I think, it is just the option which makes people choose none of the above candidate, who are not capable of being a good leader ahead, or who will not be able to make state or country a good economy.

- Many of the people choose the NOTA option. Apart from this, they know that if the NOTA is given 70% votes and the rest got the left 30% votes, then the candidate who got just 30% of the total votes will be the winner. Then what is the overall effect?- Nothing. By choosing NOTA, the voters only shows their angriness and dis-satisfaction about the elected candidate. There is nothing happen if the option NOTA is made in the voting machine.

As per my view, NOTA is good step to change the mind set of people towards democracy. In India, people not able to stand in elections only those people stand who got it by their forefathers and we can't stop them. By NOTA if 70% and above votes in favour of NOTA than it mean there are no right candidate in the election. It is a good way to show our disagreement towards the government. On the basis of this govt takes the eligibility of the corrupt candidate and doesn't give chance again.

I feel that Nota should not be provided for voters. It has been 2 years since the nota have been provided and only 2 % of the votes go for Nota. So it eventually has no impact and incases Nota wins.

There will be re-election which will only waste time and money.

I think the politics is like a market where the seller is trying to sell the leaders to us. They are advertising about their products and as a customer we must judge the product all by ourselves and if we don't like it, we should have an option not to buy the product. But judging by current conditions, if the whole market is full of rotten products, and if we don't buy anything, it will be us returning empty handed.

So, NOTA is undoubtedly a good choice, but we must take the responsibility of not having a leadership. Since almost all intellectuals lack the need to go for politics due to its ill effects, we should think about our responsibilities to the nation before casting the vote to NOTA, as it is not merely the solution of the problem we are facing now.
