Should voters be given a NOTA (None Of The Above) choice?

If NOTA will be applied and then NOTA wins the election and then they start re-election then In the re-election they should choose by checking people's qualifications & the backgrounds to vote. So that the election will be successful. If they don't want to reelect the third time.

I don't think NOTA is a viable solution at this stage of Indian development.

1. Even an ordinary election requires a huge lot of effort, time and load some of the capital to campaign, manage and run the electoral process effectively. NOTA might result in null and void results putting all the resources in vain.

2. The main AIM of NOTA is approval of best candidature. Every community wants to be represented by the best themselves. A fair part of Indian society would never be unanimous about the approval of the 'perfect' candidate. Hence, NOTA will result in unfavourable results, most of the time.

3. The outcomes of NOTA will create the governance issue. In case of cancelled elections, the problems caused in the interim will be quite debatable at times.

4. The re-election due to NOTA will not always guarantee maximum participation of the common man. They are expected to decrease with re-election for every turn.

5. Instead of implementing NOTA strategy per say, bars should be put on the candidature selection process by adopting fair practices like minimum educational qualification, clean judicial record etc. To ensure the best candidate to come up in the elections.

Implementing NOTA right now is a non-feasible solution for the betterment of Indian Politics for now. Other alternate ways need to be suggested.

We can definitely have NOTA only if the government should eliminate those who have contested already in the election for the re-conduction of an election when NOTA has more votes than any other parties. Because rather than looking for correct routes it's wiser if we eliminate the wrong routes that we have.

NOTA should be provide during at election. This would be the greatest tool for measure the spoilness of political system. A voter should have this right that who choose any option to vote a candidate or not. This gonna be right step in improving the percentage of voting because there are some in society who want to give vote but due lack of good option they are not interested to give their vote any person therefore if there is option for NOTA then at least voter come to EVM machine to press the NOTA option. In my opinion this would be great step to improvement percentage of voting currently we only have highest 85% of voting we need to take it at 100.

I think the politics is like a market where the seller is trying to sell the leaders to us. They are advertising about their products and as a customer we must judge the product all by ourselves and if we don't like it, we should have an option not to buy the product. But judging by current conditions, if the whole market is full of rotten products, and if we don't buy anything, it will be us returning empty handed.

So, NOTA is undoubtedly a good choice, but we must take the responsibility of not having a leadership. Since almost all intellectuals lack the need to go for politics due to its ill effects, we should think about our responsibilities to the nation before casting the vote to NOTA, as it is not merely the solution of the problem we are facing now.

No doubt its a very good option provided nowadays to voters to initiate them to vote at least and not to waste their votes even they are not in support of any candidate. But it will be best at its service if each voter is aware of the actual meaning, use and consequences of NOTA. Only then NOTA can prove helpful for voters as well as for nation. Because nowadays not many people are aware and the no.of voters use this option is very low. Which result in almost negligible effect of NOTA option.

Ok have read lots of view about NOTA as option in election board. Yes I do agree as an option for NOTA during election. Because as in group of particular political party we people can't get a chance to pick the right full leader as they themselves do appoint to fight for the leadership, so as waste of public voter right there should be an option to decide the particular leader is not right person. Means people can show their view as if leader that is appointed is not perfect. And in any means if NOTA has highest vote than the appointed leader by their parties should remove from battle for chair and appoint some other leader. I guess by NOTA option we people could get good chance to appoint the rightful person to lead us.

Hello everyone NOTA option too good, we have different articles in our constitution but still most of us are not aware for eg: (Right to vote article) do we think "IS everyone voting according to their own VIEWS?" my answer is no because most of us goes traditional approach of voting as their forefathers, relatives, society use to do but rarely on their own views, so first we need to be aware and also make aware to others value of vote, thus we can eliminate the candidate, still if we don't find any of the remaining candidate worth enough then NOTA OPTION IS TOO GOOD with condition follows.

The idea if having a NOTA option is a very interesting one. It will not only relieve us from selecting candidates whom we don't really want to but also give the Government an outlook of what the citizens are expecting is not satisfied by the nominated candidates. Just because we will have a NOTA option people will at least come forward to vote and not sit back wasting their votes. Not just NOTA the government should also bring up a policy that if the percentage of NOTA votes in award exceeds 50% or so, The nominated candidates must be changed.

Those are unaware about politician's politics they should not have right to vote because they are only increasing votes of one leader. Those know all own area's politician members work they will vote them if they are appreciating them and those would like no one from selected members to give rights of developing area or to complete necessities of people then they will select NOTA. So many people are against politics so they will go for voting and will press NOTA.
